The Bluefield Fire Department is an agency of help for persons residing in, working in or traveling through the City of Bluefield WV. While suppressing and controlling fires is our primary task, and our main focus the protection of human life, this department provides a number of additional services.

Of major importance is fire safety and prevention -- seeking to prevent fires before they start.

Building inspection, code enforcement, hazard abatement and pre-incident planning help everyone in the City, and are important areas of emphasis to the department.

Personnel are national registry First Responders and provide emergency medical assistance to anyone within the City.

Hazardous material training to the operations level allows us to further protect our citizens.

Response to potential non-fire emergencies such as carbon monoxide alerts, flammable gas or vapor presence, well-being checks and so forth indicate this department's role is the overall health and welfare of all persons inside our City borders.
